FAQ’s – Hamilton PAL Cheerleading

P.A.L will provide the uniforms for the girls to use throughout the season. Also In the middle of the season all the girls will have pictures taken (a team photo and a single photo) which will be paid for by the P.A.L.

When is practice?

Practice begins on or about the first week of October depending on the schedule of the schools. Practice times and school are listed below: Schools and schedules may change according to the availability of the grammar schools.

When does practice end?

The end of practice is determined by each coach based on the team’s ability and dedication. Practice usually ends the last week of February.

Who do we cheer for?

The girls cheer for the corresponding Hamilton PAL Boys Basketball team. The boys are ages 8 to 12.

When do the games begin?

The games begin the first week of November. Sometimes it may be delayed or start a little earlier depending on the boys basketball teams.

When and where are the games?

The games are usually held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at either Grice or Crockett Middle Schools Game times are 6:30pm and 7:20pm. Each team will have one game per week. In case of Emergency closings on the night of your respected game the games will be cancelled and re-scheduled for another night. The make-up games are only held on Mondays. The director of the boys basketball program will notify me with the time and date of the new games and I will contact the team coaches.

When does the season end?

The season usually ends mid-March.

I have a sibling, friend, relative, neighbor on a cheer squad or the basketball team. Can I be on the same squad?

There is a section on the application that enables you to note special requests – please note your request there. Unfortunately, some requests cannot be honored due to the fact that there can only be 20 girls per team, so it will be based on a first come first served basis.
