DIVISIONS
GRADES 1 thru 3
    No-Changes:
  • We will continue to hold a group practice.
  • 6 minute running quarters
  • Adjusted foul line
  • Man to man defense
    Changes:
  • Games will be half court and 3-on-3. This will allow each player more touches on the basketball.
  • There will be no teams. Each girl will receive two shirts and will be notified which shirt to wear each week. This change is to keep the games balanced and eliminate forfeits due to absences.
GRADES 4 thru 5
    No-Changes:
  • 6 minute running quarters
  • Man to man defense, no press until the last minute of the 2nd and 4th quarter
    Changes:
  • Games will be full court and 4-on-4. This will allow each player more touches on the basketball.
  • Practices will be held on various days during the week. Players will sign up for what day/time works for them each week. They can attend multiple practices, but no more than 15 players will be permitted in one practice.
  • Teams will not exist. We will adjust players and tell them which shirt to wear to keep games competitive and eliminate forfeits due to absences.
GRADES 6 thru 8
    No-Changes:
  • 6 minute running quarters
  • 5-on-5 full court; any defense
    Changes:
  • Girls will be assigned to teams after a 2-week period of clinics. This will keep teams as balanced as possible.

COACHING
  • We will accept volunteer coaches, as in the past. We do ask that you be vaccinated, since the girls cannot be vaccinated.
  • Coaches will be expected to coach all players and provide a positive learning environment for them.
  • We will be soliciting some local colleges to try to get some students in degree programs that align and see if we can find some coaches from that pool.
SCOREKEEPING
Parent volunteers will be needed at all 3 levels
  • There will be no scorekeeping at Grades 1 – 3. A parent volunteer will need to start the clock, so it expires at 6 minutes.
  • There will be a scoreboard for Grades 4 – 5. A coach/parent volunteer will need to work the clock and scoreboard.
